Dr. Wallace was a faithful and loving husband, a wise and devoted father of six, a precious and beloved son and brother, a good natured sensitive friend, and a respected physician and administrator of the highest integrity.
Dr. Wallace was active in the community throughout his time in the Fox Valley. He was co-founder of the community hospice program and continued as medical director of hospice until the time of his death. He was a member of the St. Elizabeth Hospital Board of Directors and a campaign committee member for the Fox Valley Boy Scouts of America. He also served as a board member for the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as a member of the Fox Cities Special Task Force on Education, a member of the St. Elizabeth Hospital Community Foundation and as a charter member of the Advisory Board for the Appleton Family Practice Residency program. He was an active member of St. Bernadette’s Parish and loved racquetball, skiing, canoeing, backpacking and sailing. He was also a national leader in health care administration, serving as president of the Society for Physicians in Administration and as an active member of the Medical Group Management Association, the American College of Physician Executives, the Group Practice Improvement Network and the United Medical Group Association.
